***All Classes include: all materials supplied (Easels, Paper, Drawing Utensils, View-Finders Drop-Sheets etc), Nude Model or Still life arrangement, a glass of wine, tea, biscuits/dips, lamingtons, experienced drawing instructor for casual advice throughout the evening.

Relax and let your creativity flow with these fortnightly fun and semi-instructed group life drawing sessions in the beautiful South Canberra setting of Urambi Village Community Centre. These ‘semi-instructed’ sessions are ideal for beginner and advanced artists looking to practice and develop their observational and expressive life drawing skills. Paper, Drawing Materials, Biscuits and tea provided.

What’s Provided:
A Professional Nude Model
16 Standing Easels & Stools + plenty of regular chairs.
20+ drawing boards in various sizes
Butchers Paper, Butterfly Clips and some basic drawing utensils (Graphites, markers, Pencils) however please feel free to bring & use any particular paper or drawing utensils you might like to use (however please no oil paints or inks or anything with high odour or risk of making a mess. Please be considerate with the use of charcoal)
An experienced life drawing instructor
These life drawing sessions are ‘semi-instructed’. I try to achieve the right balance between letting you draw, relax & enjoy yourself while providing sufficient feedback to ensure that each evening you challenge yourself, learn and develop as an artist
A Collection of helpful drawing books, anatomical models, figurines & drawing tools (gridded viewfinders and frames) - For use and reference use during lesson and breaks, to be returned by the end of each session.
Tea, Coffee and toilet facilities.
What to expect:
6:15: Doors Open, grab an easel or chair, cup of tea etc and get yourself set-up and settled.
***CLASS/DRAWING STARTS AT 6:30***
6:30-7:00: Rapid Sketching. Starting at 10 second progressively lengthening to 5 minute poses. The purpose of this period is to loosen up, playfully experiment and focus on the key gesture of the form.
7:00: 5 minute break.
7:05-7:45: 5-15 minute poses. A chance to focus a little bit more on some elements of the form, muscle structure, weight, block shading.
7:45-8:00: drink and mingle break.
8:00-9:30: 3 x 20 minute poses and a final half hour long pose.
What’s Expected of you:
Common courtesy & respect for the model and each other. No photography allowed of the model, please do not ask.
